Known Limitations
Videos do not have synchronized captions or audio descriptions.
Measures Taken to Ensure Accessibility
- Rebuilding the website from scratch using an WordPress theme that describes itself as accessible.
- Designing the website so it is sustainable. A sustainable website loads faster and is easier to use on various devices over slow and fast internet connnections.
- Using contrasting colors.
- Improving layouts of pages.
- Updating all alternative text and image descriptions.
- Changing all links so they are descriptive.
- Ensuring that links are consistent and distinguishable.
- Changing page hierarchy to make the website more understandable.
- Rewriting headings so that they are descriptive.
- Standardizing font sizes vs. using inline styles. Using font sizes that adjust to browser settings.
- Modifying the theme CSS to add focus indication, larger tap targets, overriding WordPress Gutenberg caption styles to improve usability and overriding CSS of multiple plugins to improve usability.
- Improving appearance and usability of forms.
- Testing the website manually and using various browser addons.
- Reviewing the the website for compliance with the WCAG 2.1 checklist.
