Welcome to the new year and the same ol’ me. Each year I evaluate the past year and then make resolutions to change me. This year I am going to accept me just the way I am. Instead of focusing on the things I need to change, I am going to focus on what I do well. Focusing on what we do well is a powerful way to build momentum, confidence, and purpose. Reflecting on what we do well just seems like a happier way to begin the year.
I won’t lie; I ended the year stressed because I focused on everything I could have done better, but then when I reflected on my year, I realized I did some amazing things. I stepped in to give support to some people who had nowhere to turn and my interventions led to some positive changes. I continued to put my physical health at the forefront but also realized I didn’t need to be perfect everyday. And for my sanity last year, I made a commitment to make only positive or funny posts on Facebook which honestly has made me and my followers feel less stress. Overall, I feel good and will continue my focus on positive actions instead of the negative in 2026.
Happily, CORE has lots to celebrate because of all the positive things we did this past year for and with individuals with disabilities. In 2025, CORE served 159 participants. We helped to prepare and facilitate 32 job placements for our participants. We expanded into Ohio to bring more opportunities for people there. And finally, we opened up more opportunities for individuals with disabilities when we partnered with Spark Welding. All of these accomplishments are 100 percent more than what we accomplished the first year CORE was founded.
At CORE, we continue to focus on our main goal: we want to help individuals with disabilities find meaningful employment that enhances their lives.
As long as we focus on all we do well, we will continue to grow to serve others with disabilities to reach their potential through employment opportunities.
Happy New Year from CORE! We hope you all have a fabulous 2026 by focusing on all the amazing things you do well.
